Using the Resource Database
Searching the Database
There are two primary methods to search from the main search page: keyword search or topic search.
Keyword Search
Enter your keywords or key phrase to search. Suggestions will appear as you begin typing.
- You may enter your keywords enclosed in quotes (ex. “summer camp”) for exact matches.
- Please limit your keyword searches to a maximum of two to three words to search efficiently as the tool searches for each words individually when there are no quotation marks.
Topic Search
The list of categories and topics is intended to make finding resources easier. Click on a topic category and sub-category to view the results.
Search Results
Once you have searched using a keyword or selected a topic, the search results page will appear. By default, results are sorted by alphabetic order of the agencies’ names. You can view the results on a map by clicking on the “Map” button above the results.
Select Your Location
You can either view resources from all of Ottawa, or to target a location closest to you, select Ottawa West, Central, East or South.
Language
Use this option to find programs and services where services are delivered either in English or French, according to your selection. To view the database in French, please click on the “Français” button at the top right of the screen.
Age
Add in an age to find resources restricted to a specific age group.
